Classic London on Foot

Classic London on Foot!

(with some help from public transport or private car) - up to 4 hours

A great way to cover much of central London in a short amount of time!

Are you looking for an introduction to London? Where to begin, what to cover?! The city is vast and has 2,000 years of history. How about we explore one London's oldest parts, the City of Westminster and the City of London?

If we start in Westminster during the morning there's a chance that we can experience Changing of the Guard and marvel at their spotless uniforms and watch as they march along playing their brass instruments. We’ll have so much fun!

We'll see Big Ben, the country’s largest clocktower and the gorgeously gothic exterior of Westminster Abbey, our royal church. Next we’ll take stroll through St James's Park, London's oldest and smallest - but very beautiful - Royal Park. I’ll show you the best spot to take in Buckingham Palace and with any luck we’ll spot the Queen through one of the 760 windows!

We’ll make our way along Whitehall, centre of the U.K. Government where we'll see No.10 Downing St, home of the British Prime Minister for over 300 years. After checking out Trafalgar Square - where all measurements in London start from - we can catch the tube, bus or even riverboat and head east to explore some of the City of London, where London – or rather Londinium - was founded by the Roman's in 43 AD!

We'll stand outside St Paul's Cathedral, London’s church and gaze up at its glorious dome, the second largest in the world and check out the spot where the Great Fire of London began on 2nd September 1666 AD.

Next up, how about a walk along the banks of River Thames? I’ll tell you all about London’s liquid history connected with the U.K’s second longest river. The River Severn to the west of England is the longest!

How about we finish outside the Tower of London, which has stood for nearly a thousand years, home to the Crown Jewels, the Royal Armouries, the Tower Ravens and the Beefeaters – I’ll explain the meaning on the day – all that and much more can be done in just one half day tour. Yes really!
