London Blue Badge Tourist Guide

ABOUT ME

What is a 'Blue Badge' and a bit

about me...

What is a 'Blue Badge' ..?
The 'Blue Badge' is the highest qualification for tourist guiding in the U.K and dates back to 1951, created to coincide with the Festival of Britain.
There are over 800 x London Blue Badge Tourist Guides today and we all go through an intensive 2 x year course (and 11 x rigorous exams) in order to qualify.
As a fully trained, insured and professional London Blue Badge Tourist Guide (BBTG) I am qualified to guide across the capital and slightly further afield. Places such as Windsor Castle (favourite home of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II) and Stonehenge (the oldest pre-historic site in the country) and have been providing tours since 2016.

We London Blue Badge Tourist Guides are the only external guides allowed to provide tours of the top sites and attractions located in and around the city.
Sites such as Westminster Abbey (our royal church), St Paul's Cathedral (London's Cathedral) and properties managed by Historic Royal Palaces such as the Tower of London (home to the Crown Jewels) and last but certainly not least; the Royal Collection Trust that manages Windsor Castle amongst other royal buildings.
The relationships that we have with these organisations are really important to us and many provide us (and our clients) with a variety of exclusive perks and privileges, such as fast-track entry/skip-the-line and access to behind-the-scenes areas and much more.

I am an all-rounder as a person and am happy to guide people of all ages and interests as a group, family, couple or even an individual visitor. Corporations too.
London really has something for everyone on all budgets and is changing all of the time and is a really exciting place to be, no mater what time of the year. With 32 x boroughs to explore, the city is one giant chocolate box really!

A bit about me...
I was born and raised in South London. Aged 20yrs old I moved to Stratford, East London in 2009. It is a vibrant area, home to many people from many different backgrounds and has a real buzz about the place. At the time I was living there a huge area (the same size as Monaco) was being re-developed for the London 2012 Olympic Games and each night, during the actual games you could just hear the crowds cheering the athletes on, it was incredible.
Since 2018 I have been living close to King's Cross, North London which is in the middle of a large re-development project right now and is fast becoming London's answer to Silicon Valley. There's lots of cool bars, restaurants in the area to check out, may found just off of nearby Regent's Canal and inside Coal Drops Yard.

Living in all of theses very different areas has helped give me a greater understanding of the city as a whole.

Before my time as a guide I spent most of my working life within some of London's finest royal palaces, such as the Tower of London, Kensington Palace (London's most exclusive royal residence), Hampton Court Palace (pleasure palace of King Henry VIII) and the Banqueting House (the last building left of Whitehall Palace, once the largest palace in Europe). It was this experience that sparked my desire to become a professional tourist guide and I haven't looked back since!
I think I have the best job in the world.
